Gather your materials

That is the first thing you need to gather up cleaning supplies to tackle the blinds, including:

· Microfiber cloths

· A vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment

· Dishwashing liquid

· Warm water

· Baking soda

Close the blinds

Begin by fully lowering the blinds. Wood and faux wood blinds can completely close; the slats of vinyl and aluminium blinds, which mostly overlap, should be tilted downward but not completely secure.

Dust the blinds

If you have vertical blinds, hold the bottom of the blind in one hand to stabilize them. Wipe the blinds with a microfiber cloth, begin from the top and downward. Wipe in a downward motion, or they may come unhooked. Also, you can use the vacuum cleaner with a soft dusting brush attachment and a low suction setting to remove dust. For horizontal blinds, the process is precisely the same except that you wipe from side to side. Work from the top to bottom slat, so dust does not fall on areas you have already cleaned.

Flip the blinds and repeat

Flip the blinds so the other side will face you and repeats the process with your microfiber cloth or vacuum.
